Sister Cities Association of Fishers

Programs

What other Sister Cities activities can I get involved in?

The Student-teacher exchange program organizes out-bound and in-bound exchanges to England. Community members can get involved in hosting in-bound students and teachers and helping to facilitate the outbound process where Fishers students-teachers travel to England.

The Charles Dickens Christmas activities are part of the Fishers Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Lighting event in November. Sister Cities organizes the “Charles Dickens Christmas Carolers” and carriage rides to infuse some British Christmas ambiance at this annual Fishers community event. It is a fun way for individuals to share their singing talents with the community and share some British culture.

Is Billericay Park named after our Sister City?

Yes, in 1998, the Fishers Town Council voted to name this new park after the Town’s relationship with our sister city. The playground areas are named after places in Billericay, England. Sister Cities will have two dedicated areas in the new park expansion.

What are some of the future goals for Sister Cities?

Sister Cities would like to expand the town’s involvement in the global community by adding a second sister city. We will be forming an exploratory committee to look at where in the world we would like a relationship.
